Clan Unity is an international  mental health recovery and reclamation consultancy, based in Scotland.

Clan Unity supports professionals and people in mental distress, who are interested in exploring the journey through recovery and the discovery of mental health.

Clan Unity's programme focuses upon workshops, seminars, research and practical support - details of which can be found on this site.

Clan Unity is focused on the reclamation of the human context of mental health. The experience of mental distress has been colonised by generations of professionals, who have stripped away much of the meaning of human experience, replacing this with the banal language of 'psychobabble'.  Reclamation involves helping people 'recover' the stories of their lives - told in their own language.

Clan Unity recognises that we are all in recovery - whether professional, layperson or service user or consumer. We are all struggling to recover from the slights, injuries and obstacles that life, and its inhabitants, present to us.

Clan Unity recognises that recovering our core 'selves' and reclaiming the life we believe we have lost, to mental distress or disability, may be a life-long journey. However, whilst on that journey, we still can live life to the full.
